Live traps are live cages meant to trap target animals without killing them. They are usually baited, sometimes with dead bait and sometimes with a live "lure" animal.
Live traps usually have a trigger located in the back of the cage that causes a door to shut, preventing the animal from escaping. Supporters of cage traps say that they are the most humane form of trapping, and in some countries are the only method of trapping allowed.
Live traps are used by animal control officers to catch unwanted animals and move them to another location without harm, as well as by gamekeepers to trap birds and animals that are pests. This small size trap measures 16'' x 6'' x 6''. This cage trap has one spring-loaded door, from 12 x 14 gauge wire. Trap target animals are chipmunks, squirrels, small feral (stray) cats, and birds. Trap is manufactured from heavy duty galvanized wire mesh with steel reinforcement. Spring loaded door, protected handle and automatic locking system provide safety for both animal and human.
