Crimping Tool
[G0017]
$79.99

Crimping is joining two pieces of metal or other malleable material by deforming one or both of them to hold the other. This crimping tool is used primarily to press splices together and fence taps. The bend or deformity is called the crimp. This crimping tool is considered a cold-working technique to join the two materials together. In technical terms, pliers are an instrument that convert a power grip, the curling of the fingers into the palm of the hand, into a precision grip, which directs the power of the hand's grip in a precise fashion on the object to be gripped. The handles are long relative to the shorter nose of the pliers. Therefore, they act as levers, concentrating and, in effect, amplifying the force in the hand's grip on a work piece. The crimping tool can also be used to form a strong bond between the workpiece and a non-metallic component. This crimping tool is a quality mult-groove hand tool.
